Volunteer for the Badagry Tech Summit

Run the room you want to be in.

Somebody has to open the doors, scan the tickets, walk the speakers in, keep six zones moving and close the building at the end of the night. That somebody is a team of {N} volunteers, and we are building it now.

This is not an errand. You will be inside the first technology summit ever held in Badagry, on the floor, with the people running it.

Eight roles. Pick the one that sounds like you.

Registration and check-in

You run the door. Scanning tickets, finding people on the list, getting 500 people inside without a queue down the road.

Builder Challenge Support

You keep the ten finalists calm, their demos working and the running order intact.

Speaker liaison

You meet speakers at the gate, get them to the green room, get them on stage on time, and get them back out.

Zone host

One host per zone — Main Stage, Build Floor, Startup Arena, Career Hub, AI Lab, The Network. You keep your zone on time and know what is happening in it next.

Ushering and flow.

You move people between zones, keep the aisles clear and know where the toilets are when 500 people ask.

Media.

Photo, video, social. You capture the day as it happens, not after it.

Logistics

Setup the day before, teardown the night of. The unglamorous one, and the one the day cannot run without.

Information Desk

You are the person everybody asks. You know the programme, the building and the wifi password.

Here is what it is actually worth.

01.

A named role and a written reference from Tech Now Global, signed, on letterhead — not a generic certificate.

02.

Full access. When you are not on shift you are an attendee. Every zone, every main-stage session, the Builder Challenge final.

03.

Training before the day. A briefing session where you learn your role properly.

04.

Lunch and a volunteer tee on the day of the summit.

05.

Your name in the post-summit report that goes to every partner, speaker and press contact.

06.

The room. You will spend the day two feet from founders, engineers, recruiters and investors who came here to meet people. You are people.

What we ask

01.

One briefing. One long day.

02.

Friday 27 November, 7:00am to 6:00pm. Doors open at 8:30, the programme runs 10:00 to 4:00, and the building has to be cleared after. Volunteers arrive before the first guest and leave after the last one.

03.

One briefing session before the day. You cannot volunteer without it.

04.

Be 16 or older. If you are in secondary school, bring a letter from your school.

05.

You do not need experience. You do not need to be technical. You need to turn up when you said you would and do the thing you said you would do.

Become a Volunteer

We read every application and reply to all of them, yes or no. If you are selected, you will hear from us with your role and the briefing details.
